Living Seas Aquarium

Ever fed Koi fish? Well L & S got the pleasure of feeding a TON of Koi fish at the Living Seas Aquarium in Park Ridge. It is a hidden treasure of a place - HIGHLY recommend going when there is a feeding time for the Koi pond and then walking around to view all the fish.
Signe sort of chucked the fish food at them. Linnea on the other hand was very brave and held her hand full of food under the water for the Koi to nibble out of her fingers. I did (after seeing my 3 year old do it first of course) and its a funny feeling! They're very gentle!
The girls LOVED finding 'Nemo' and not just one but 'Mommy - look at all the nemos!'
Papa was a good sport picking up the girls to view all the fish and we had a moment of insanity where we considered a fish tank. Don't worry - it passed!

Swedish Museum

(Linnea selling Mormor a ticket to board the ship to America)

Surprisingly we've never been to the Swedish Museum .. shocking right? I mean, we have 2 of the most blonde swedes! So we finally made the trip first to Ann Sather's for breakfast and then the Swedish Museum. We had to make the trip once my mom the twins Mormor was around - couldn't go without the head swede!

Would you like a cupcake with those sprinkles?

Sprinkles, sprinkles - get your Sprinkles!

Linnea is in pink, appropriately dressed for all the pink sprinkles she was dumping/decorating the cupcakes with! And Signe is in purple and having a blast with the multi-colored 'yittle balls' as she called them!

Anyone want a sprinkle or two - how about we just let the 3 year olds POUR the sprinkles on!
It's always fun that L & S love to cook and help in the kitchen - so we did an afternoon activity of making cupcakes for Uncle Mike to take back to college and to use as a small birthday celebration for the twinners with my side of the family!

Chicago Auto Show

Chicago Auto Show

Each february we get 2 quick visits with my parents - 2 weekends that we fill with fun! This time around we hit up the Auto Show! The girls had a blast driving the cars. Some cars even looked about their size. They weren't too sure about the climbing wall, loved seeing the 'CARS' movie stars, enjoyed watching the Jeep demonstration arena and in general get lots of walking out of their systems!

Linnea wanted in on the action in the Army Medical tent - so one of the Army women snuck her in under the line and put her right up high to see the demonstration. Doctor in the making? And Signe had a blast riding up on Uncle Mike's shoulders. It was a great day!

Pig Pile on Mommy!

This was one of those moments that made me tear up a little bit... it is so rare for both girls to be calm and cuddly at the same time - not wiggling around. And to have them both sitting on my lap was just so precious that it reminded me of days when they were little, like 5 lbs little... those days are past and we love the days we're in.
But just for that one moment - it was a close to perfection mommy moment!

Happy Valentine's day my sweet girls!

Another birthday post...

SIGNE - top pic
LINNEA - bottom pic

We had a little family cupcake celebration with the twins! This year their birthday was super fun to celebrate because they just enjoy each experience and can express it! At three the girls are talking up a storm, getting a little sassy and really getting into pretend play! It's a crazy age that is full of huge smiles and huge meltdowns! Bring it on 3 - here we come!

We're turning...

THREE today! Happy Birthday Linnea & Signe!

Happy Happy 3rd Birthday!

Linnea in pink, Signe in yellow!

Today's the day - Linnea & Signe turned 3!
We are thrilled and a little shocked the we have 3 year olds now! Where did the time go? So today we had a fun filled morning at the Looney Toons Play Area with their cousins. And then off to Build-A-Bear to create an animal... followed by lunch and cupcakes at Rainforest Cafe! Linnea & Signe really got into making their animals - both knew immediately that they wanted bunnies, and thankfully choose different colors. It was all 'awe' struck faces while filling their bunny and choosing an outfit. Linnea is now the proud owner of Floppy the Bunny and Signe is the proud owner of Fluffy the Bunny. Original, aren't we?
So here are some pictures from our day!

All set up - 3 birthday girls ready to blow out the candles!

Ready, set, go!

Happy Birthday!

Snow time!

Quotes from today: Feeding my tummy, mom.
Having lunch. Snow tastes like strawberries!

Snow mustache - Signe!

Licking up the snow - Linnea!
Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the snow. We have been outside twice and are headed out right now for one more play time before the temps start to drop! I'll add more pictures later today. But for now these are the best of the best!
