So close to TWO!

This blog hasn't really come to be yet, but I hope in this new year to make a fresh start! (Signe is on left, Linnea on right - enjoying the snow!)

We are 1 month away from the twins turning 2! It is incredible. We've, as parents, enjoy almost 2 years with them and look forward to many more. They are just SO aware and involved, talkative and inquisitive.

While they were slow to start speaking beyond "mama, dada, baba, ball," and other words, they are ROLLING now! I love when they pretend to read books out loud to themselves or to me! Its great. But really, they are just talking talking talking! All the time. We love that they say 'thank you', 'sorry', 'please' all un-prompted. Of course, Signe says 'pleeeease' at an incredibly high octive. Not sure where she picked that up! Linnea is the 'sorry' queen, she does it purely because it is a new one but she'll say it every time we tell Signe to say sorry... she'll just chime it for a while. Its cute!

As far as growth, Linnea is somewhere over 28lbs and Signe is over 27lbs. Still 1-2lbs apart in weight. Linnea has ketotic hypoglycemia - which we discovered with an ER trip over Christmas vacation at my parents house in MA. Never easy to be watching your child be unresponsive, but we are learning to deal with it and are glad to know that she has it *as does signe* so that we are prepared for times (such as illiness) when it would become a problem.

The girls LOVE the snow! And have had a blast learning to play with their new play kitchen they recieved for Christmas, feeding their baby dolls that mormor gave them, taking their own pictures with cameras from their Auntie Mimi... they are just changing so much! Our favorite indoor activities for the winter are finger painting (Signe likes to paint her body) and play-doh! Such messy activities but entertaining. We also LOVE bathtime. They now spend a good amount of time on their stomach blowing bubbles in the water, pretending to swim with their feet and hands and enjoy helping each other soap up with bubbles!

Tonight we got rid of pacifiers! Not sure how the next few days or naps will go, but they went down relatively easy, just 30 minutes of protest tonight. Wish us luck!

And next week, if all goes according to the carefully thought of plans of a mom, POTTY TRAINING! Maybe I should wait til after their birthday?? We'll see. That may change!
