The Green Family Christmas took place in November this year. The day after Thanksgiving. Seriously. We managed to do 3 holidays in 3 days. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. We've now declared it "Newthankmas"... I think that's what they made up for it. So every other year, when we are out east for Thanksgiving, we'll just do all three!
The twins got their first present of the season on 'Christmas Eve' (Thanksgiving night for those not paying attention)... we woke up and decorated the Christmas tree, had cardamom bread for breakfast, Swedish meatballs for dinner followed by present exchange by the tree. It was a whirlwind Christmas. Had the carols going and everything. The girls really enjoyed 'helping' everyone unwrap their gifts... they'd hand over the gift the whomever was receiving it and then say "I help you" and then proceed to 'help.'
With all the hair accessories from Mormor we were able to play 'beauty shop' to our/their hearts content! Stylin' aren't we? Setting new trends for sure. Chef Linnea and sous Chef Signe were ready for the kitchen with their new aprons and accessories!
It was very fun to experience Christmas at this age with the girls. They are learning all about Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph - they play with their Little People Manger set and go through all the characters and animals telling me the story. And since they love to say 'Happy Birthday' - we're working on the concept of Jesus's birthday!
