Gardening: Stage 4 -

Let's get down to business!

So we've planted and watched our Zinnias and Sunflowers grow. And we've seen lots of progress. The next step was the MAIN ATTRACTION! Dan borrowed a rototiller (spelling?) from friends of the serious-gardening variety folks, and tilled the back section. Haha. We almost sound for real right? Well, he tilled twice and then tilled a third time with some special fertilizer/ food dirt... or whatever the real gardeners call it.

Let me tell you - gardening is a TON of work. Anyways... After lots of 'help' from the twinners and 3.5 hrs, all the plants got in the ground and received a good watering. Turns out we have some neighbors that are serious gardeners. They literally came out of the wood work to give us 'helpful suggestions'. Ie: we weren't doing it correctly and got turned around. Even my explanation that this is all an experiment and a learning experience for our toddlers didn't deter the serious gardeners from trying to teach us more. Seriously, I'm lucky if I remember to water! Anyways, the garden is in and so far it is flourishing. Granted it's been a day so bare with us... And pray that our garden GROWS!

WARNING: We are amateurs and as such realize that we may not be gardening 'properly'. Again this is our first attempt. The black stuff is to prevent or rather help prevent weeds, believe me I am NOT weeding! Not if I don't have too. And the walk way is a necessity when you have 3 year olds playing around by the garden! Helpful suggestions welcome. :)
